Function Tour

Page Editor

You can drag & drop images and text onto your page and place them at exactly the desired pixel positions. Professional design features such as rulers and magnetic guidelines, design elements and alignment tools help perfect your layout.

Automatic and Layered Roll-Overs
Dynamic effects, such as roll-overs, are created automatically. Quite unique, StudioLine even allows roll-over effects for layers of odd-shaped images.

Automatic Positioning
You can drop a large number of objects (such as images from the image archive) into special "Design Element" container objects, where they can be automatically arranged in rows and columns. Various tabular layout options exists.

Page Alignment
Left-aligned pages were appropriate for smaller screens, but appear out of balance on large monitors. StudioLine can align pages to the left, right or center of the browser window.

Productivity with Drag and Drop
All properties, including fonts, image enhancements and links, can be duplicated to other objects by simple drag and drop - which is intuitive, efficient and maintains consistency between pages.

Omnipresent Tool Palettes
Non-modal dialogs allow quick access to settings and tool palettes. Instead of constantly opening, accepting and closing dialogs, users can keep several windows visible on the work space and immediately view results of any changes.

Layout Editor

Achieve a consistent look and feel throughout your web site project with layout templates. Changes to a global layout template will automatically carry through to the associates pages.

Common elements of your web site, such as menu and navigation bars with roll-over effects, page footers or backgrounds should be placed in a layout template, which can then be shared by any of your pages. Layout templates can contain design elements and placeholder images. They also control the default sizing, effects and other properties for images that are added to a page. With layout templates it's easy to maintain a consistent look throughout your web site.

The layout editor offers the same full range of tools and editing functions as the page editor. You may wish to adapt existing layout templates or come up with a new design from scratch.

It's easy to overhaul your site at a later time, to give it a fresh look or to accomodate new corporate standards. Simply update the common layout template and all associated pages will inherit the new design.

Any edits you make on individual pages will be retained.

Web Galleries
You may already have used the entry-level online albums included with StudioLine Photo. With StudioLine Web Portable, you can design your own one-of-a-kind web galleries.

Using conventional methods, you would invest a large amount of time to create a thumbnail page for your gallery pictures, links to a detail pages for each image and cross- links to allow browsing between the detail pages in forward and backward direction. If you also wanted a timed slide-show feature, you would have to become a scripting wizard.

StudioLine Web takes care of all these technical details for you, so that you can concentrate on creative aspects. You start with the layout editor, where you come up with your overall designs for your thumbnail page and associated per-image detail views.

Thumbnail (Index) Page
With a special "prototype" image you control the appearance of thumbnails and roll-over effects. Layout settings of a container object can automatically organize the thumbnails in tabular format. After switching from layout to page editor mode, you simply drag and drop images from the image archive onto the index page and StudioLine generates all thumbnails, roll-over effects, "Alt" texts and links to the matching detail pages.

Multi-Step Detail Views
All you design is "boilerplate" for the detail page with a particular image size. Additional image views for increasingly larger image sizes can also be created, allowing visitors to click on a detail view to see an even larger size.

StudioLine will use your boilerplate to generate detail pages for all images in your gallery.

You can include image descriptors (including Exif and IPTC image tags) on your detail views which StudioLine uses to create automatic titles and captions. A variety of navigation options allow you to place backward/forward links on your pages, as well as a link back to the thumbnail page.

StudioLine Web Portable will automatically adjust all links, if you later add or remove images from your gallery.

Graphics Effects
The extensive image editing capabilities of StudioLine Photo are an integral part of the page and layout editors. You can edit and enhance your images directly on your pages.

Website Management
StudioLine Web Portable manages your navigation links in its project database and automatically keeps them current.

Publishing Management
The built-in FTP component keeps track of new, updated and obsolete content. Smart-update technology keeps existing web pages reachable, while site updates are being uploaded.

Support for RAW Files
RAW formats of popular cameras by Canon, Fujifilm, Konica-Minolta, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Sony, Sigma and other brands are supported. The extended color space allows for losless editing of your RAW formatted images.
